A Reunion to Remember: St. Rose’s Alumni Come Together in Atlanta

What an awesome week of reunion events!

The St. Rose’s High School International Reunion 2026 in Atlanta, Georgia, was truly a celebration to remember.

From August 9–15, alumni, family, friends, and members of the St. Rose’s community came together from near and far to celebrate our shared history, renew friendships, create new memories, and embrace the future—all in the spirit of Serviam.

Under the theme, “Saluting the Past, Embracing the Future in the Spirit of Serviam,” the week was filled with fellowship, laughter, music, memories, and moments that reminded us of the special bond that connects those who have walked through the doors of St. Rose’s High School.

From our Mass, Opening Ceremony and Welcome Mixer to the Cultural Evening, Games Night, Gala Celebration, class gatherings, and the Last Lap Mixer, each event brought its own special memories. There were hugs between old friends who had not seen each other in years, stories of school days that had long been tucked away in our memories, laughter over shared experiences, and the joy of simply being together again.

One of the most beautiful aspects of the reunion was seeing alumni make the journey from different parts of the England, United States, Guyana, Jamaica, Canada, Grenada, and beyond to be part of this special occasion. Some traveled great distances, rearranged busy schedules, and made tremendous efforts to attend. Your presence was a testament to the enduring love and affection we have for St. Rose’s and for one another.

Special Moments

This was the first St. Rose’s High School Reunion held outside of Guyana that so many of our school administrators were able to attend. This remarkable opportunity was made possible through the generosity of our Chairman of the Board of Governors, Mr. Kenrick Thomas.

Kenrick recognized the importance of having our school leaders present and extended invitations to Principal Ms. Sumanta Alleyne and Deputy Principals Ms. Yolanda Welch and Ms. Mohanie Babulall. He further invited Ms. Glenice Fordyce, Head of the Agricultural Science Department and Teacher Representative, and Ms. Noreema Ledra, Head of the Department of English and Leader of the Serviam Hub/Media Group.

Their presence added tremendous value to our Reunion, particularly during our Business Meeting. We were privileged to receive valuable and insightful information about the current state and future needs of St. Rose’s High School. The administrators shared updates about the school and provided meaningful guidance on ways in which we, as alumni, can continue to give back and support our alma mater.

Having so many members of the school’s administration with us was truly exceptional. It

strengthened the connection between the school and its alumni and reminded us of the important role we can play in helping to shape the future of St. Rose’s High School. We are deeply grateful to Mr. Kenrick Thomas for making this experience possible and to our administrators for taking the time to join us and share their knowledge, vision, and commitment to our beloved school.

Kenrick also auctioned twelve plaques beautifully designed by Lionel Simon in the shape of the Serviam logo, with each plaque representing one of our house colors. As you know, the auditorium was built in 1847 and demolished in 2018. Each plaque was hand crafted made of wooden columns preserved from the auditorium. The auction quickly became one of the highlights of the evening, as alumni playfully competed against one another, topping each other’s bids in the spirit of fun and camaraderie. The friendly bidding war generated plenty of laughter and excitement throughout the room. At the end of the evening, Kenrick was delighted with the success of the auction and, most importantly, with the impressive profits raised to support the school’s drive to have a new backup power generation system. This system will be installed in the compound to offset downtime during the periods of Guyana Power & Light outages.

A Heartfelt Thank You

To everyone who attended, we extend our deepest and most heartfelt appreciation. You are what made this reunion a success. Your enthusiasm, participation, laughter, friendship, and wonderful spirit created an atmosphere that will remain with us for years to come.

A very special thank you goes to everyone who worked behind the scenes to make the reunion possible. To the Reunion Planning Committee, event coordinators, volunteers, class representatives, hosts, sponsors, and supporters, we are deeply grateful for your time, dedication, creativity, and commitment.

Many hours of planning and preparation went into making each event possible, and your efforts did not go unnoticed. Whether you helped with registration, transportation, decorations, programs, hospitality, entertainment, communications, or simply stepped in whenever help was needed, please know that your contribution was greatly appreciated.

We also extend our sincere thanks to those who supported the reunion financially and through their generous contributions. Your generosity helped us create memorable experiences for our alumni and guests.

More Than a Reunion

This reunion was about much more than a series of events. It was about coming home.

It was about remembering the teachers and classmates who helped shape our lives. It was about reconnecting with old friends and making new ones. It was about celebrating where we came from while looking toward where we are going.

Most importantly, it was a reminder that although the years may pass and life may take us in

different directions, the St. Rose’s connection remains strong.

The spirit of Serviam—“I will serve”—continues to unite us. It is reflected in the lives we have

touched, the communities we serve, and the ways in which we continue to support our alma mater and future generations of St. Rose’s students.

Until We Meet Again

As the final events came to an end and we said our goodbyes, there were undoubtedly a few tears, many hugs, and countless promises to stay in touch. While the 2026 Atlanta Reunion may be over, the memories we created will remain.

Atlanta gave us a week filled with memories, but the greatest gift was being together again.
