The Project Planning Committee focused its efforts on fulfilling the association's annual obligation, clarifying lines of communication, and handling outstanding issues from previous years.
Recommendations:
1) Security: the remaining balance of funds previously wired and not utilized totaling an estimated US $3,700 will be used towards the payment of the security balance owed by the school.
2) Computers: in conjunction with the Canadian Chapter funding of the additional eight computers (2 for staff and 6 for students), and two laser printers.
3) Prize Giving: funding of scholarship totaling $2,900 to be continued and to ensure that all monetary awards are signed for upon receipt with monetary prizes for students not present at graduation, be forfeited and returned.
4) Representation at Prize Giving 2010: Pansy Lee McCrae.
Future Plans:
1) To get estimates from the BOG for the cost of renovating, (a) the teachers’ washrooms and, (b) the library. A letter requesting this information was already sent to the BOG and we are awaiting their response.
2) To send shipments of relevant novels and reading material for the library and other minor school supplies after consultation with the relevant authority at SRHS.
3) To get a list of the students to benefit from Prize Giving this year;
4) Investigate the best and most cost efficient way to send money to Guyana for Prize Giving.
