Report on Adhoc Reunion Committee: Lorraine Croft-Farnell, Pansy Lee-Mc Rae, Beverly D'Andrade-Waaldijk, Peggy Bacchus-Thomas, Jennifer Gomes-Pierre, Brenda Brent-Peters, Brenda Ince-Hing, Marcelle Van Sluytman-LeDoux, Compton Grose, Jennifer Harding, Mumel Skeete-Jones, Kirk Cramer, Naline Persaud-Thompson, Cheryl Durant-Smith, Cheryl Dinally-Suknanan, Carol Cholmondeley-Jonas, Cheryl Alleyne, Dezelle Trellis, Lorraine Mohamed-Emeghebo, Byron Henry Jr., Audrey George; Simone Jordan-Mc Bean, Claire Cholmondeley-Brown, Michael Goodchild, June Jarvis, Mary Jagdeo-Ferreira and Elsa Smith
Disbursement of collected funds
The funds raised amounted to $1989.25, disbursement are as follows:
1. $1000.00 Canada’s requested contribution for the Reunion;
2. Donate $150.00 to Beverly Miller’s Cadman Congregational Church for allowing us to use its facilities for rehearsing our roles;
3. Present $150.00 to Wrickford Dalgetty for his musical services at our rehearsals and at the event itself;
4. Present $300.00 to Cheryl Jarvis for her choreographic and lyrical services at our rehearsals.
5. Wait to hear from Canada’s Chapter about the financial outcome. If there is a shortfall, we will then decide if and how much we could donate. If we do not present any funds to Canada’s Chapter, we will hold the remaining $389.25 in escrow for seed money to be used when we begin to plan for our next reunion.
Cultural Evening:
Thanks to Cheryl Durant-Smith for organizing our performance; it was entertaining.
Reunion Events
Cultural Evening: In attendance at this event was approximately five hundred alumni and friends coming from sixteen countries from all continents of the world.
Meeting of Board of Governors with the Toronto and NY chapters: The New York and Toronto chapters collectively pledged to keep close communication with the Board of Governors to improve the physical environment of our alma mater and meet the needs of present pupils, faculty and other staff.
Picnic: The picnic was attended by one hundred and twenty people. It was reminiscent of games days at St. Rose’s, we had the lime and spoon, sack race and hoola hoop arranged by Lorraine Lackenlall.
Dance Gala Evening: The dance was attended by over four hundred alumni and friends at which alumni celebrated their school experience their alumni, fellow alumni, friends and former teachers.
Closing Ceremony: Over two hundred attended for prayers and blessings.
Thanks to all committee members for helping us to achieve our goal of contributing to this wonderful event!
Finally, thanks to our Canadian chapter for organizing and implementing a most memorable event!
