The Ursuline nuns in Barbados have had to give up the residence they have used for many years to house them so that the school can expand to accommodate more classrooms and a chemistry lab. They have had to construct a new building where they will live which is simple, modest and takes into consideration their age (no stairs).
The building is almost complete, construction started over a year ago, and the nuns are desperately in need of financial assistance. The contractor has been very lenient with them, not having any funds towards the next payment, but this situation cannot go on forever.
The nuns who are resident in Barbados are all from Guyana and you may know or remember some of them as well as those who have died serving that community.
